Kate Hudson, 46, had a pivotal spring style moment on the red carpet on Wednesday. On May 6, all eyes were on Hudson as she arrived at the premiere of Netflix’s Marty, Life Is Short, a documentary highlighting Martin Short’s career, in a marigold column gown with deep side cutouts.

The sleeveless maxi dress, part of Tod’s spring 2026 ready-to-wear collection, and made its debut at Milan Fashion Week in September 2025. According to Women’s Wear Daily, the color palette was inspired by the book An Italian Summer by Claude Nori, resulting in the vibrant saffron shade Hudson wore to the premiere.

Up close, the suede halter dress featured plunging side cutouts that billowed at either side as Hudson walked down the red carpet. From behind, the gown also featured a surprise, twisted detail as the fabric criss-crossed at the small of her back. The design also included a small keyhole cutout along her upper back. As a final showstopper, the skirt split into a thigh-high slit from behind, revealing her elegant footwear.

Hudson, who opted to go braless for the event, kept her accessories simple, pairing the outfit with black pointed-toe pumps and a brown leather overcoat that she later removed. Styled by Rob Zangardi and Mariel Haenn, Hudson accessorized the look with Beladora jewelry, including sculptural gold earrings and chunky rings in warm, metallic tones.

Her glam team, including hairstylist Marcus Francis and makeup artist Tonya Brewer, completed the look with black mascara, a pink lip, and a soft, low ponytail. Iconic celebrity nail artist Nails of LA also gave Hudson a lengthy, milky manicure that complemented her outfit nicely.
